Objectives and Contents

Objectives: This course aims to introduce students to the phenomenon of communication from an interdisciplinary approach; to provide an understanding of communication processes, types and tools in historical and contemporary contexts. The course focuses on various forms of communication, including verbal, nonverbal, intercultural, and digital communication, as well as areas such as representation, visual communication, and communication studies, with the goal of helping students develop a critical and conscious understanding of communication.
Content: This course includes the following; definition of communication, communication process and basic elements, verbal communication, nonverbal communication, interpersonal communication, intercultural communication, visiual communication and symbols, history of communication, mass communication and types of media, digital communication, communication in everyday life, communication and representation, communication as a field of research.
