Objectives and Contents

Objectives: This course aims to teach students basic photography knowledge along with lighting techniques. Students will develop their visual storytelling skills by learning the structure of cameras, exposure settings, composition principles, and the creative use of different light sources through practical application. In addition, students will gain both technical and narrative proficiency through projects such as digital portfolios and photojournalism.
Content: This course includes the following; introduction to photography, basic characteristics of photography and light, cameras and accessories, exposure triangle, composition rules, the nature of light and basic types of light, photography portfolio preparing techniques, photo reading techniques, types of photography, smartphone photography, definition, scope and characteristics of photo-essay, presentations of photo-essay projects by students.
