Objectives and Contents

Objectives: The aim of the course is to examine the old traditional religions, present-day religions and The Near Eastern religions in the various regions of the world. İn addition, the aim of the course is to contribute to the individual development of students as well as to provide a better understanding of our guests from other countries who have different religious beliefs and cultures. Moreover, this course aims to explain the religious traditions to the students in question based on the archaeological artifacts.
Content: The content of this course is Judaism and Christianity, which are defined as monotheistic religions in the Near East, and centers, monuments and living traditions and cultures related to these religious traditions. The content of the course is very rich in terms of faith tourism in our country, Ephesus, Sardis, Izmir, Yalvac, Antakya, Urfa, Konya-Çatalhöyük, Istanbul and Cappadocia with a distinct religious character as the ruins issues. İn addition connected to these places such as the Virgin Mary, St. John, St.Paul, Prophet Abraham religious characters and Seven Churches, Hagia Sophia, Chora Church, Anatolian Saints, Syriac etc. The subjects are also closely related to the content of the course.
