Objectives and Contents

Objectives: The aim of this course is to examine changes in peer relationships throughout childhood and adolescence, while also explaining peer pressure and bullying experienced during these periods.
Content: This course includes the following contents: "Introduction; Peer relationships during pre-school, and school-ages; Peer relations and the importance of friendship, family and peer relations; Peer relations during adolescence; Peer pressure, aggression, and bullying; Defining bullying, distinctive features of bullying from other aggressive behavior, and history of bullying research; Prevalence and Types of bullying; Bullying status, characteristics of children or adolescents involved in bullying, short and long-term effects of bullying on children and adolescents; Cyberbullying as a new type of bullying, Prevention, and Intervention Strategies, Copying and Social Skills Support, Reviewing Research Articles on Peer Pressure and Bullying in Turkey; Video Analysis on Peer Pressure and Bullying; Positive Peer Relationships and Positive Communication"
