Objectives and Contents

Objectives: This course aims to introduce the general principles and theories of maritime law in accordance with international developments.
Content: Contents of the course include the subjects as in ship, flag, ship register, ship ownership, ship mortgage, operation of the ship, equipping and operating concepts, equipment subsidiary, building partnership, captain, ship man, freight contract and its types and rights and obligations of the parties, documents in freight contracts, compulsory execution in sea law concepts and issues as in transfer of ship ownership, rescue in sea accidents, collision, dispatch, assistance, general average, lay time and demurrage, passenger carriage contracts, loading, unloading and delivery in overseas sales contracts.
