Objectives and Contents

Objectives: It is aimed to provide civil engineers with a practical perspective by associating all engineering disciplines applied in buildings with each other and to gain career infrastructure related to green building certification systems.
Content: It includes the following topics; the definition of sustainability, the concept of green building, holistic design approaches in sustainable buildings in the construction industry, project management principles, building life cycle, building cost cycle calculation principles, resource use and recycling and resource cycle principles, criteria for aesthetics, quality and user health; location selection for sustainable buildings, carbon content of materials, efficient water use, waste water and garbage management, balancing architectural, mechanical and electrical systems for energy efficiency with the opportunities offered by nature, green energy technologies, protection of ecosystems, precautions to be taken during the construction process, green building certification systems, best practice examples, existing software examples.
