Objectives and Contents
Objectives: It is aimed to teach the structural systems used in tall buildings, service and capacity design approaches under external loads in, the design approach of tall buildings in the specific design and construction phases.
Content: It includes the following topics; structural systems of tall buildings, behavior and design under wind and seismic loads, international design approaches, reinforced concrete, steel and composite bearing elements and design methods, design for lateral seismic loads, foundation design, design of arch-lattice systems, basic excavation support systems, exterior and interior design of columns and walls, design for column and wall axial shortening, design for floor release, floor level design, design of non-structural elements, building information systems and structural design applications.
