Objectives and Contents

Objectives: It’s aimed to gain knowledge, skills, and attitudes regarding examining the physiological, social, and environmental changes in the elderly and their relationship with nutrition, as well as developing nutritional strategies that can positively affect the quality of life and health indicators of older adults.
Content: Definition, characteristics and demographic importance of ageing, physiological changes in ageing and their effects on nutrition, macronutrient and micronutrient requirements in older adults, nutrition in cardiovascular diseases, hypertension and diabetes in older adults, nutrition in bone, renal and gastrointestinal diseases, nutrition in neurological diseases, immune system and nutrition, malnutrition and sarcopenia, nutritional behaviors and psychosocial factors in ageing, nutrition recommendations for older adults, fluid intake and hydration, enteral and parenteral nutrition approaches, nutrition management in elderly care Institutions and hospitals, case analyses.
