This course aims to obtain basic information about the concepts of surveying, restitution, restoration and conservation in historical structures, examining historical structures in terms of material and building techniques, learning surveying techniques, examining the factors causing deterioration in cultural properties, examining the works in terms of architectural history, construction techniques and restorations made, making damage identification analyses through surveying applications and reporting. |

Contents of the course include learning basic concepts and approaches in examining historical structures, values to be conserved, factors causing deterioration in cultural properties, restoration techniques, re-functioning and providing general information on conservation approaches in Turkey, and performing surveying application by conducting scientific review of an old structure. Also, identifying and analyzing damage on the works. |
