This course aims to introduce students to the fundamental concepts of lexicology, including word meaning, structure, and lexical relationships in English. The course covers the scope of lexicology, word formation processes, semantic relations, polysemy, idiomaticity, and historical aspects of the lexicon. Students examine lexical variation, borrowing, and change, alongside the role of dictionaries and lexical resources.
