OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: This course will inquire into the political, economic, social, and cultural development of the world civilizations with particular focus on the ancient times and middle ages.
Contents of the Course Unit: The development of ancient civilizations from the Agricultural Revolution to the Roman Empire.

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to)

1. Compares and contrast Mesopotamian, Egyptian, Persian, Minoan and Mycenean, Hebrew, Greek and Hellenistic Civilisations.
2. Evaluate differences between various civilisations’ political structures, religions, artistic production, daily life patterns etc.
3. Evaluate and interpret about advantageous and disadvantageous sides of different civilisations.
