Aim of the Program

The primary objective of this program is to equip students with the theoretical and practical foundations of data science, as well as the ability to effectively integrate rapidly evolving artificial intelligence methods into data analytics processes. Within the scope of the program, students are expected to utilize modern statistical methods, machine learning, and artificial intelligence techniques in the processes of data collection, organization, processing, analysis, modeling, visualization, and interpretation.
 
The program aims to enable students to address complex data problems using an analytical and scientific approach, select appropriate methods and technologies, and develop creative and reliable data-driven solutions. Additionally, the program aims to equip students with the ability to evaluate their findings in accordance with ethical principles, effectively communicate them to diverse audiences, and apply the analytical solutions they develop to real-world problems.

Target of the Program

With the rapid advancement of digitalization, the volume of data generated has increased, and transforming this data into meaningful insights has become a critical need. In Turkey, too, the demand for data analysts, data scientists, data engineers, business intelligence specialists, and artificial intelligence and machine learning experts is steadily growing. The Department of Data Science and Analytics aims to address this need by training qualified professionals who possess analytical and critical thinking skills, can apply modern statistical and computational methods, analyze and interpret data, and generate value from data.

Programmes allowing Horizontal Transfer

The Department of Data Science and Analytics accepts students via horizontal transfer from associate and undergraduate degree programs within the quota, in accordance with the "Regulation on the Principles of Transfer Between Associate Degree and Undergraduate Degree Programs, Double Major, Minor, and Inter-Institutional Credit Transfer in Higher Education Institutions.

Programmes allowing Vertical Transfer

All students who wish to transfer to the department through Vertical Transfer must take the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS) and attain a qualifying score. Students who meet all the requirements are placed by ÖSYM and gain the right to pursue a four-year undergraduate education at our university. Additionally, associate degree students of Istanbul Gelişim University who earn a paid quota through DGS are granted a 50% scholarship opportunity.
