Aim of the Program
The aim of the Nutrition and Dietetics is to prepare dieticians who possess those qualities of competences and skills requisite to a health professional. The department also aims to train people who demonstrate creativity and innovation in research with the help of technology that contributes to the development and application of knowledge in nutrition, dietetics, food service management and community nutrition.
Target of the Program
1- Conceive the theoretical and practical knowledge to promote health, prevent disease and minimize disability. 2- Play a role in adequate and balanced nutrition education with the awareness of their responsibilities for public health. 3- Define advanced level of theoretical and practical concepts in the fields of nutrients, nutrition and nutrition research. 4- Conduct projects and activities, and form new policies by taking part in multidisciplinary studies.
Career Opportunities
A dietician is a person who has received at least four years of higher education in the field of Nutrition and Dietetics and received the title of Dietician with the Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics. Dieticians can get the titles of Specialist Dietitian and Doctor Dietician by completing their master's and doctoral programs after their undergraduate education.
Future of the Department
All living things must be fed in order to survive. For people too; Nutrition is the most basic need that is maintained from the mother's womb until death. Therefore, as long as there are people and foods, the need for a dietitian will undoubtedly continue in society. Despite all prevention action plans, obesity is a public health problem that continues to exist both in the world and in our country.
Considering the increasing obesity rates in the world and in our country, the size of the need for dietitians becomes very clear and it seems that the fight against obesity and weight management will be among the main fields of work of dietitians for a long time.

A dietitian receives a very special education in order to regulate nutrition in situations such as infancy, pregnancy, old age, health and especially in metabolic diseases. It is very important to be able to focus on areas of expertise for the future of the profession.
