General Information

Aim of the Program

Providing services to the child, family, educator and society in supporting the development and skill areas of children who are 0-18 years of normal development, with special needs, who are in need of protection and at risk, can evaluate their mental, language, motor, social, emotional development and self-care skills. To raise child developers.

Target of the Program

Career Opportunities

Child Development department graduates;

  • In the Ministry of Health (Hospitals, Public Health, Community Health, Family Health, Healthy Life Centers etc.), making evaluations regarding the development of child development services; In collaboration with the relevant person and branch to produce plans, programs and projects and implement them, and to create opportunities for internal and external cooperation,
  • In the Ministry of Family Labor and Social Services (General Directorate of Child Services, Children's Houses, Family Counseling Centers, etc.), the child developers are responsible for determining the development levels of children living in the service area and monitoring their development. It conducts professional studies for the solution of its problems; Prepares and implements programs for children in the center, using professional techniques and methods, and in the preparation of the necessary material; Child Developers who will work in the children's homes are responsible for carrying out the professional studies related to the care and upbringing necessary for the adaptation of the child, who is accepted to the children's home by the coordination center. In line with the age, disability, interests and needs of each child, they prepare and implement educational programs related to their physical, mental, emotional and social development. Provided that the Child Development and Child Development Experts complete the family counseling training program organized by universities, professional associations or chambers or non-governmental or public institutions, in accordance with the determined standards,
  • In the Ministry of National Education (Private Education Institutions and Guidance and Research Centers, private kindergartens, nurseries, kindergartens, etc.),
  • As academic staff in associate, undergraduate and graduate education staff at universities,
  • Children and Youth Centers,
  • Public Education Centers,
  • General Directorate of Security (Child branch directorate / office supervisor etc.),
  • They can work at Uniféf, Ilo and voluntary organizations (NGOs) as project producers, executives and consultants.
  • They can find the opportunity to work as a consultant in children's magazines, theaters, toy making.

 

Students who graduate from this program can work in government and private institutions and organizations, as well as continue their academic careers with a master's degree in Child Development, Preschool Education, Developmental Psychology or a different department related to children, and then a doctorate.
They can produce projects in national and international fields.

Future of the Department

Children are the future and most valuable assets of a society. Successes in maternal and child health, both in our country and in maternal and child health all over the world, are increasing day by day. The child development profession is very important in terms of developmental screening and detailed evaluation of the cognitive, social and emotional, language and motor development of children aged 0-18, monitoring their developmental processes and developmentally supporting children, providing counseling to the individuals who care for the child, and creating healthy generations.

Who Should Choose

Child Development is a health graduate department, as in all other health departments, it is one of the basic conditions that must be human love. Anyone who is suitable for teamwork with other health and child-related professions can choose this profession.

Child Development department graduates;
