OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS |
Objectives of the Course Unit: |
The aim of this course is to enable the students to analyze the messages and visuals in the media, to read their sub-texts and to develop a critical perspective on the media. |
Contents of the Course Unit: |
In this course, the basic concepts of media literacy will be discussed and the historical development and importance of media literacy will be examined. In the following weeks, the power of the media, the effect of agenda setting, violence in the media, representation and othering issues will be discussed. media texts after Turkey and processing of media literacy studies done around the world will examine case studies and discussions will be carried out. |
