OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS |

Objectives of the Course Unit: | Students have knowledge and skills about the effects of green buildings as energy efficient buildings in cities on sustainability and reducing their carbon footprint. |
Contents of the Course Unit: | Sustainability, energy efficient building, green building planning/design, energy efficiency in buildings, legislation and building examples in Turkey, green building measurement and evaluation method, active and passive methods in buildings, sample projects will be covered in the course. |

• Defines; sustainability, green building and energy efficient design. • Can use the Energy Efficiency-Design Relationship in Buildings in environmental design projects. • Have knowledge of the International Measurement and Evaluation Methods of Green Buildings and can evaluate different buildings. • Can apply the use of foundations, roofs, walls, windows and other materials and installations in energy efficient buildings in their projects. Develops different sustainability solutions with material and system selection. |
