OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: The aim of this course is to give information about the concept of poison and toxic dose, routes of poisons into the body, toxicoquine of poisons, toxicodynamics, individual factors affecting toxicity, systemic toxicology, risk assessment in chemicals, mechanisms of drug adverse effects and risk management in medicine
Contents of the Course Unit: Basic Principles of Toxicology, Dose, Toxic dose, LD50, Routes of Poisons into the Body, Distribution and Excretion, Biotransformation, The Factors Affecting Biotransformation, Pharmacogenomic, Toxicogenomic Poisons, Mechanisms of action of toxicogenomic poisons, Mutajenesis Carcinogenesis Theratogenesis, Direct Effects on Tissues, Allergic Reactions, Toxicology in drug development/ clinical research, Assessment of Test Results in Toxicology and Risk Evaluation , Systemic Toxicology, Toxic Effects of Mycotoxins, Metal Toxicity, Toxic Effects of Organic Solvents, Herbal, Animal and Herbal Toxins- Effects
