OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS |
Objectives of the Course Unit: |
It is aimed to create a theoretical knowledge that will form the basis of the basic orthotic concept, its aims, and orthotic approaches that are frequently used in lower-upper extremity and trunk pathologies. |
Contents of the Course Unit: |
Definition and classification of orthoses, materials used, lower extremity pathologies and orthoses, spinal pathologies and orthoses, upper extremity pathologies and orthoses, additional parts and modifications to orthoses, mobility aids. |

Can define the orthosis. |
Explain the basic usage areas of orthoses. |
Can make samples according to the basic usage areas of orthoses. |
Will be able to list the usage purposes and targets of orthoses. |
Explain the usage period, maintenance and applicability of orthoses on the patient. |
Define orthotic approaches for common pathologies in the lower extremity. |
Define orthotic approaches for common pathologies in the upper extremity. |
Define orthotic approaches for trunk/spine deformities or pathologies. |
Will be able to explain the usage purposes and types of mobility assist devices. |
