OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS |
Objectives of the Course Unit: |
The aim of this course is to evaluate the social opposition that emerged with the modern state in the context of rights and freedoms and social movements, which are one of the repertoires of action in social opposition, in a comprehensive historical context. |
Contents of the Course Unit: |
The course covers the birth of social movements in the modern state, theories of social movements, global social movements, social movements in Turkey and the impact of developments in communication technology on social movements. |

Explains the systematics and basic concepts of Social Movements. |
To be able to question the factors that cause social movements, the emergence and aims of movements from a sociological perspective. |
Discusses the actors, actions, aims and objectives of social movements. |
Compare social movements in their historical context within the framework of important breaking points. |
Analyzes the impact of the globalization process on social movements. |
Evaluates the social movements in Turkey in today's social formation within the framework of movements in the world. |
