OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: It is aimed to teach bridge materials, bridge types, bridge design stages, bridge layout, influence lines, structural design of concrete bridges
Contents of the Course Unit: The lecture contains bridge history, bridge elements, bridge types, concept design, predesign of bridges, final design of bridges, bridge loads, influernce lines, prestress and post tension, bridge slabs, AASHTO LRFD design method, Numerical analysis of bridges, maintenance and repair of bridges.
