OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: This course aims to present the importance and characteristics of air logistics and hazardous goods transportation.
Contents of the Course Unit: The contents of the course include the subjects such as Air transportation and basic concepts; activity process in airline companies; documents used in air transport; logistics management applications in airways; integration of supply chain activities in air transport; issues to be considered in air transport; types of cargo and specialised cargo products; definitions and basic concepts in hazardous material transportation; the safety obligations of the parties; classification of hazardous substances; transport, loading, unloading and handling conditions and mandatory rules; shipping procedures and marking rules; operational rules for handling equipment and personnel.
