OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: To get students to undertake simultaneous and consecutive interpreting practice based on the course material as well as material compiled from the genres where simultaneous and consecutive interpreting is practiced.

Focusing on active listening, comprehension, note-taking and memory techniques; developing the knowledge and simultaneous interpreting skills through contextual studies - in, both, the source and target languages - with particular reference to theoretical issues available in the literature within a range of genres where simultaneous interpreting is practiced.
