OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS |

Objectives of the Course Unit: | This course aims to critically evaluate media texts, to raise awareness of media messages, and to ensure that students are not passive but active readers. |
Contents of the Course Unit: | Contents of the course include revealing the meaning of the messages and sub-texts by analyzing the production process and components of media texts through sample media texts from the Turkish press, questioning the relationship between media and audience and examining the effects of media on social, cultural and economic life. |

Explain definition and concepts on media literacy by giving exampled from the studies made in the World and in Turkey. |
