OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: This course aims to provide the students with the competence to know the fundamentals of addiction and to recognize and intervene.
Contents of the Course Unit: Contents of the course include the subjects such as dealing with the concept of addiction in terms of social and psychological development, chemical and behavioral processing, prevention and treatment strategies, and simple intervention.

Explain the general concepts and definitions related to the addiction field. (Blossom's 4)
Evaluate the dynamics of addiction. (Bloom’s 5)

Explore social work practices for addicted individuals and their families. (Bloom’s 4)
Obtain basic knowledge about physiological and behavioral effects of all major categories of both legal and illegal psychoactive substances.
