OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: The aim of the course is to inform the students about the economic, political, and military policies of the East Asian region and to provide the students with the ability to critically evaluate the policies of the countries in the region.
Contents of the Course Unit: Contents of the course include politics, foreign policy, competition, inter-conflicts among the regional countries as well as the role of superpowers in the region.

On completing the course, a successful student should be able to: [i] understand the political scenario of East Asia; [ii] formulate academically informed opinions about and demonstrate knowledge in the depth of particular economic, strategic, and conflicts; [iii] understand the importance of East Asia in international politics.
