OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS
Objectives of the Course Unit:	This course aims to discuss the economic and political developments in the world between the French Revolution and the Cold War with a theoretical perspective, in the light of the main theoretical perspectives and basic historical information about the contemporary world history.
Contents of the Course Unit:	Contents of the course include the subjects as in French Revolution, 19th Century streams of thought and their effects on the world, 19th and 20th Century's Colonialism Activities, in 19th and 20th Centuries, General view of Ottoman Empire and its place in world politics, General view of Europe and the World before World War I, World War I, General view of the world after World War I, Great Depression of 1929, World Politics Before World War II: The Arising of Fascism and Nazism, USSR and Communism, World War II, General view of the world after World War II, The Cold War, New World Order after the Disintegration of the Eastern Bloc.

Explain the basic actors of the 21st century world politics and the relations between them.
Identify the basic concepts of contemporary world history.
Describe the stages of formation and transformation of the modern world.
Interpret the forces centralized in Europe, America, the Middle East, Africa and Asia and conflicts of interest between them.
Relate the developments occurred during the World War I, World War II and the Cold War period by taking into account their historical contexts.
