OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: This course aims to enable students to comprehend postmodernism and postmodern literary theory with all their aspects, learn the development of postmodernism in Turkish literature, recognize postmodernist writers, and develop their skills in evaluating a postmodern work literary and scientifically on the concept of modernism.
Contents of the Course Unit: In this course, starting from modernism, we will discuss the birth and development of postmodernism within social, cultural, and economic conditions. The texts of the postmodernist authors of Turkish literature will be read and analyzed, and thus, we will learn the terms and concepts related to postmodern literary theory.

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to)

Recognize how the concept of postmodern art emerged in the world and Turkish culture.
Explain how postmodernist elements are seen in architecture, painting, cinema, literature.
Order features include metafiction, intertextual relationship, faint thematic structure, fragmented/discontinuous/disconnected characteristic, achronological quality, grotesque, stream of consciousness, camera eye, hypertextual design, which are among the dominant features of postmodern texts.
Explains the features such as parody, pastiche, allusion, sarcastic transformation, collage, montage, which are among the types of intertextual relations.
As a result of this course, students will be able to study today's branches of art and especially postmodern art; they know that the fact that they have passed from Newtonian physics to Einstein's physics is the main factor. Naturally, therefore, they study postmodern texts, postmodern scripts, and other postmodern artworks.
