OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: The aim of this course is to raise awareness about media contents with a basic critical literacy skill, and to convey the relationship between media contents and social, cultural and political economy.
Contents of the Course Unit: The content of this course is to examine the concepts, models, theories, analysis techniques in critical media literacy and the critical media literacy studies carried out over traditional and new media.

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to)

Knows the concept of critical media literacy, its theories, models and analysis techniques.
Recognize the social, cultural and political economy relationship of media.
Analyzes messages in media contents.
Improves the ability to look critically at the messages in media content.
