OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: This course aims to introduce basic concepts regarding nationalism and ethnicity, present day political developments within a historical and intellectual background and evaluation of past political history.
Contents of the Course Unit: Content of the course include movements of thought composing the roots of nationalism, concepts related with nationalism, variety of ways in several regions and countries and school of thought, apart from ethnicity, nation and nationalism.

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to)

Identify nation, nationality, ethnicity and nationalism
Explain the role of nationalism movements in the political history and present day political life
Interpret nationalism related dimensions of international problems occurred in the present day
Analyze differences between nationalism emerged in several countries
Analyze basic evaluations of movements of thought related with nationalism over case studies
