OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: The objective of this course is to help students comprehend how to examine the novel and story texts of various periods in Turkish literature, to understand the methods of text analysis, the change of Turkish novel and its story since the Tanzimat period, and the thematic structures of Novel texts.
Contents of the Course Unit: Contents of the course include; examination of the novel and story texts of various periods in Turkish literature, the methods of text analysis, the change of Turkish novel and its story since the Tanzimat period, and the thematic structures of Novel texts.

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to)

Evaluate novel and story texts of various periods in Turkish literature.
Differentiate between the various periods of Turkish literature.
Apply various critical theories to novel texts which are analyzed.
Use theoretical equipment of text analysis in analyzing literary products.
Question the changes in Turkish novel and story starting from Tanzimat period based on texts.
Evaluate the thematic structures of novel texts.
