OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS |

Objectives of the Course Unit: | This course aims to improve aptitude for examining the relations between local governments and democracy by taking into consideration the elements of local politics and questioning the element of leadership in local politics. |
Contents of the Course Unit: | Contents of the course include the subjects as in the management of local administrations, the difference between political and administrative decentralisation, local political mechanisms, approaches to urban politics, leadership in urban politics, communication strategies in local elections and the effect of leadership on voter behaviour. |
