OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: The aim of the course is to examine the basic dynamics of modern Middle East politics in the historical process and to explain the policies/perspectives of the countries/societies of the region in regional and international developments.
Contents of the Course Unit: The content of the course covers the political, social and economic structure of the Middle East, the spread of Islam and the developments in the Ottoman period, the transformation of the region during and after the World Wars, and what has been experienced in the region since the Cold War.

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to)

Explain the modern history of the Middle East and the emergence of the "nation-state" system in the region.
Analyzes the transformation in the Middle East from the theoretical perspective.
Interpret the conflicts in the Middle East through the policies of the Arab World, Iran and Israel.
Evaluate the approaches of regional and international powers such as Turkey, Russia, China, European Countries, and the USA on current issues in the Middle East, through the relations of interest in the Middle East.
