OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: The aim of lesson; To give students the knowledge and skills to explain the effects of psychology on the development of sportive performance, to apply mental training methods at a basic level, and to use the basic knowledge gained in the field of psychology to increase the performance of athletes.
Contents of the Course Unit: Course content; The field of sports psychology, its subjects; personality, motivation, arousal, stress and anxiety in sports; competition and encounter psychology, group and team dynamics, group cohesion, leadership and communication in sports, psychological skill training, attention, perception, focus, processes that negatively affect sports performance: burnout, overtraining, unhealthy behaviors, addiction, violence and aggression.

Defines the basic concepts related to the field of sports psychology
Explain the effects of psychology on the development of sportive performance.
