OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: Content of this course covers “Autodesk Autocad” software 2D drafting features; program features, external files, short cuts, drawing toolbar, viewpoint, selection properties, modifying tools, layer properties, editing tools, block creation, dimensioning, hatching, annotation, plotting.
Contents of the Course Unit: This course is intended to teach you how to use AutoCAD as a drafting tool to produce 2D working drawings. Students will learn about file management; layering standards; template drawing files; drawing and modifying commands and the benefits of inserting external drawing files and referencing external drawing files. You will be shown how to create a new drawing, edit an existing drawing and also how to plot a drawing to a suitable printer or plotter. In addition to this, you will be shown how to setup your drawing environment and customise your screen layout to suit your own preferences.
