OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: It is aimed to gain knowledge and skills related to usage of statistics in health related research studies, basic data collection methods, analysis methods and interpretation of analysis results.
Contents of the Course Unit: Population and Sample, Types of Variables, Data Presentation, Probabillity, Probability Distributions Measures of Central Tendency, Measures of Spread, Hypothesis Testing, Correlation, Confidence Intervals

Interpret the results of the analysis by using causality reasoning.
Select the appropriate method required for statistical analysis.
Explain basic statistical concepts.
Examine statistical data in the related field-based publications.
Locate the data into graphs and tables.
Demonstrate appropriate use of basic statistics concepts.
