OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS |

Objectives of the Course Unit: | The aim is to comprehend and apply fundamental methods used in the assessment of orthopedic problems, both requiring and not requiring surgery, as well as musculoskeletal injuries. The goal is to impart knowledge and attitudes related to selecting and implementing physiotherapy-rehabilitation approaches that are specific to the pathology and surgery applied, and most suitable for the situation. |
Contents of the Course Unit: | The general principles of treating fractures and various physiotherapy and rehabilitation approaches following different types of fractures are aimed to be understood. This includes conservative treatment for conditions leading to joint degeneration, such as rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and rehabilitation principles following joint replacement surgery like endoprosthetics. Additionally, the rehabilitation of pathologies related to the shoulder joint, such as rotator cuff tendinitis and tears, bursitis, and periarthritis, is covered. The rehabilitation of patellofemoral pain syndrome in the knee, as well as ligament and meniscus injuries, is also addressed. |
