OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: To provide students with the skills to recognize, evaluate and intervene in reading and writing disorders. To provide information about the causes, symptoms and classification of reading and writing disorders. To teach students intervention strategies for reading and writing disorders in the field of language and speech therapy..
Contents of the Course Unit: The content of this course aims to provide students with a solid foundation in understanding, evaluating, intervening and treating reading and writing disorders, and aims to provide them with the skills that speech and language therapists will need.

KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT (On successful completion of this course unit, students/learners will or will be able to)

Interprets the basic knowledge of language and speech science in accordance with general medical knowledge.
Explains the basic facts, principles, processes and application methods of the sub-fields of language and speech science.
Plans the speech and language therapy program with the theoretical and practical knowledge learned.
Performs and interprets the necessary speech and language evaluations for patients with hearing and/or vestibular complaints referred by the relevant specialist.
In addition to measuring the effectiveness, continuity and quality of services related to speech and language therapy, it plans education and practice studies related to speech and language science.
Knows the duties of the person who knows about the field before judicial authorities and private and state institutions.
