OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: Objective of the course is to help students gain the knowledge to be able to examine the structure of international sports organizations through power politics and to interpret the relations between sports-media-politics.
Contents of the Course Unit: Contents of the course include the definition and basic concepts of politics, concept of state and functions of the state, democracy and the functioning of modern democracies, nationalism and multiculturalism, political ideologies, sport, state, politics and society, sports and media relations and impacts of states on international sports organizations.

Define basic concepts related with political science.
Discuss the impacts of governments' sport policies on the sports in country.
Discuss social, cultural and economic impacts of sport.
Explain the relation between sport and politics and sport organizations.
Examine the structure of international sports organizations through power politics.
Interpretation the relation between athletes, media and politics.
