OBJECTIVES AND CONTENTS

Objectives of the Course Unit: Objective of the course is to provide the students with the knowledge and skills to manage sports organizations within the scope of local governments.
Contents of the Course Unit: Contents of the course include concept of local government, concept of central government, the relationship between local government and central government, local governments in different countries, the historical development of local governments in Turkey, municipalities, villages and special provincial administrations, service provision methods of local governments, relation between sports and local government, dissemination of sport, local governments and open spaces, publicly owned sites and facilities, sports clubs and local governments, local governments and sporting events.

Define the concepts of local government and central government.
Differentiate the administrative differences between local government and central government.
Tell the role and importance of the local governments in disseminating the sport.
Illustrate local governments' methods of providing sports services.
Examine and evaluate the functioning of sports organizations within the scope of local governments.
Arrange sports activities within the scope of local governments.
