Objectives and Contents

Objectives: The aim of this course is to teach students the basic concepts and development of consultation and teleconsultation, as well as their role in the healthcare system; to raise awareness of patient privacy, ethical principles, and the use of secure electronic signatures in teleconsultation processes; to provide an understanding of the establishment of teleconsultation systems, data security, and record and archiving procedures; and to enhance students’ professional knowledge and skills by enabling them to gain hands-on experience with physician–physician and physician–patient teleconsultation practices in a laboratory setting.
Content: Within the course, the definition, development, and basic concepts of consultation, as well as the role of teleconsultation in the healthcare system, are discussed. Patient privacy, ethical principles, and the use of secure electronic signatures in teleconsultation are also examined.
