Objectives: | The aim is to teach basic principles of orthotic approaches used in common lower extremity pathologies to students in Orthopedic Orthotics-Prosthetics Technology. The training enables them to perform measurement, fabrication, and application stages of certain orthoses. It equips students with skills to resolve issues that may arise during production, application on patients, and usage. |
Content: | Based on the basic knowledge of the anatomical and biomechanical arrangement of the lower extremity, the training covers common pathologies and problems requiring orthotic intervention. It discusses the fundamental principles of orthoses used to address these issues, including the production stages, application on patients, specific usage information, modifications, adaptations, and repair. The training provides theoretical and practical information in English related to these topics. |
