Objectives and Contents

Objectives: The aim is to enable the orthotics-prosthetics technician to learn the machines and tools they can use and to become familiar with the materials used in orthopedic technology.
Content: In the orthopedic prosthetics and orthotics workshop, machines, hand tools, and chemical materials are used in accordance with occupational safety rules. A negative model is created using plaster bandages. A positive model is obtained from the negative model using plaster of Paris. Orthoses are fabricated from polyethylene, polypropylene, and Throlen thermoplastics. Fastening materials such as Velcro, columns, rivets, and buckles are applied.
