| Objectives: |
The aim of this course is to teach the fundamental characteristics, classification, structure, and functions of microorganisms; to explain their growth, reproduction, and control mechanisms; and to introduce human–microorganism interactions, as well as basic microbial diagnostic methods and microscopy, thereby enabling students to develop a scientific perspective in the field of medical microbiology. |
| Content: |
Within the scope of this course, the fundamental concepts of medical microbiology, general characteristics and classification of microorganisms, structural and functional features of bacteria, viruses, and fungi, differences between prokaryotic and eukaryotic microorganisms, microbial nutrition, growth and reproduction processes, control of microbial growth, microbial genetics and mutations, human–microorganism interactions, microbial diagnostic methods, and basic principles of microscopy are examined, allowing the evaluation of microbiological phenomena from a health sciences perspective. |
