Objectives and Contents

Objectives: To provide theoretical information regarding the education and training of dentist candidates and to provide practice in patient treatment in the clinic with this information.
Content: This course includes: Definition and objectives of Oral, Dental and Maxillofacial Surgery, systemic diseases, laboratory evaluation methods, preoperative and postoperative patient care, indications and contraindications for sedation and general anesthesia, antibiotics in dentistry, prophylaxis in dentistry, use of analgesic and anti-inflammatory drugs used in dentistry, rules to be considered when writing prescriptions, sterilization and disinfection materials and their use, rules to be considered when using surgical instruments used in maxillofacial surgery and possible complications, indications and contraindications for tooth extraction, preparation for surgery in maxillofacial surgery, types of incisions and sutures, classification of impacted teeth and complications they cause, traumas in the body and wound healing mechanism, wound healing after tooth extraction, indications and contraindications for apical resection.
