Code Name of the Course Unit Semester In-Class Hours (T+P) Credit ECTS Credit
MKF511 DC-DC Converters and Analysis 1 3 3 6

Objectives and Contents

Objectives: The aim of the course is to teach students fundamental concepts and techniques in power electronics and to inform them about topics such as the working principles, classification, and comparison of DC-DC converters. Additionally, the course will cover various types of non-isolated and isolated DC-DC converters, including buck, boost, buck-boost, Cuk, Sepic, Zeta converters, among others. Emphasis will be placed on control techniques and different topologies, including forward, flyback, push-pull, half-bridge, full-bridge converters, and students will be introduced to them. Finally, the course will discuss the advantages and application areas of single-stage and multi-stage DC-DC converters.
