Objectives and Contents

Objectives: The aim is to acquire knowledge and skills related to orthoses, including the selection of materials, types, and characteristics of orthoses, appropriate orthotic selection and usage for disability conditions, orthotic use within the scope of activities of daily living (ADL), and increasing mobility; understanding the basic principles of prostheses, the physiological and psychological effects of amputation, and rehabilitation procedures.
Content: Upper and lower extremity and trunk orthoses, indications for orthoses, and their applications in daily life; upper and lower extremity prostheses, selection of appropriate prosthetic components based on different prosthetic types and amputation levels, amputee rehabilitation, and daily life activities (ADL).
