Objectives and Contents

Objectives: This course aims to introduce the important political thinkers in the historical development of political opinion in the period between Ancient Greece and French Revolution, and improve aptitude for comparing state theories produced by examining in chronological and thematic terms.
Content: Contents of the course include; Discussing Archaic Age, Leaving Medieval Thinking, Enlightenment and Criticisms, Foundations of Liberal Thought and dwelling on the ideas and approaches of the thinkers who lived in these ages for the purpose of gaining a theoretical perspective on basic concepts of political philosophy.
