This course aims to handle the concept of gender in the framework of the issues such as family, politics, labour, patriarchal society, feminism, violence, with sociological meaning regardless of the biological meaning and to create student awareness especially about the place of women in society. |

Contents of the course include: the concept of gender, the cultural construction of gender, division of labour based on gender, patriarchal society, women's role in this society, relations of women with politics, education, family violence, law, labour concepts, feminist theories, women's movements in Turkey and in the world. |
