Objectives: This course aims to discuss the economic and political developments in the world between the French Revolution and the Cold War with a theoretical perspective, in the light of the main theoretical perspectives and basic historical information about the contemporary world history.
Content: Contents of the course include the subjects as in French Revolution, 19th Century streams of thought and their effects on the world, 19th and 20th Century's Colonialism Activities, in 19th and 20th Centuries, General view of Ottoman Empire and its place in world politics, General view of Europe and the World before World War I, World War I, General view of the world after World War I, Great Depression of 1929, World Politics Before World War II: The Arising of Fascism and Nazism, USSR and Communism, World War II, General view of the world after World War II, The Cold War, New World Order after the Disintegration of the Eastern Bloc.
