Objectives and Contents

Objectives: Objective of the course is to help students to understand the features of Turkish language and its rules of use. Students can develop vocabulary and language skills through written and oral texts. At the end of this course, it is aimed that students are able to adhere the writing rules, to acquire the habit of using punctuation marks locally, to acquire reading habit, scientific, critical, interrogative, interpreting, creative and constructive thinking habits.
Content: Contents of the course include; statement, language and characteristics of language, relation between language and thought, power of language, mother tongue, local language, national language, official language, education language, cultural language, international language, relation between language and culture, civilization, Turkish and world languages, the historical periods and development of the Turkish language, the grammar of the language and its elements, sentence and its elements, the writing rules and applications, the punctuation marks and their applications.
